DOORS OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES ARE OPEN FOR NORTH EAST INDIA

New Delhi: Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, the Minister of State for External Affairs, has reportedly played a pivotal role in facilitating international business opportunities for entrepreneurs from North East India since assuming office in July 2021.
Singh, who comes from the North East region himself, has been actively involved in advocating for the potential of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from the area in the global market. It is understood that Singh personally participated in numerous Confederation of Indian Industry meetings, where he discussed the prospects for North East businesses in international markets.

In his efforts to create awareness among North East entrepreneurs about international business opportunities, Singh engaged with various industry bodies and attended G-20 events, according to sources familiar with the matter. The Ministry of External Affairs, under Singh’s leadership, is said to have expedited assistance for Indians in distress abroad, including facilitating the repatriation of mortal remains and ensuring timely issuance of necessary documents by foreign governments. Sources indicate that Singh’s office successfully resolved the majority of distress calls received, particularly those related to Indian workers in the Middle East.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Singh reportedly played a significant role in assisting Indian students with visa-related issues, ensuring timely grant of visas for those enrolled in foreign universities. Additionally, he addressed passport-related requests promptly, ensuring necessary assistance is provided to applicants across India, sources revealed.
Since July 2021, Singh has reportedly been actively engaged in diplomatic meetings, hosting foreign dignitaries, and participating in discussions to fulfill his responsibilities in the Ministry of External Affairs. He has also reportedly maintained close interactions with his constituents through visits to his constituency and various parts of India, spreading the government’s key messages and initiatives.
Moreover, Singh is said to have undertaken numerous foreign visits to engage with political leaders, Indian diaspora, and prominent personalities, showcasing the vision of New India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These interactions aimed to encourage continued engagement with India and promote the country’s growth story on the global stage, according to sources familiar with Singh’s activities.
