Imphal: A momentous occasion at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Utlou, Bishnupur, as the state welcomed the launch of the transformative Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra on Saturday.

The event, graced by esteemed figures including Education Minister Shri Th. Basantakumar, former Union Minister Chief Secretary Dr. Vineet Joshi, Addl. Chief Secretary M.H Khan, Commissioner (Agriculture) Shri RK. Dinesh, Commissioner (CAF &PD) Shri Bobby Waikhom and senior officials of the Government of Manipur symbolized a collective commitment to progress and community welfare.

Commissioner Agriculture, Shri RK. Dinesh, illuminated the gathering with an inspiring keynote, highlighting the noble intent behind the Yatra initiated by the Government of India.

This visionary initiative aims to extend the manifold benefits of government schemes directly to the people, with a special emphasis on reaching every corner of the villages over a three-day period through Information, Education & Communication (IEC) Vans.

In a unifying moment, Education Minister Shri Basantakumar led the attendees in taking the heartfelt “Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat” pledge, underscoring the dedication to this transformative journey.

Additionally, the dignitaries ceremoniously flagged off the IEC van, marking the commencement of this impactful expedition. The event showcased enlightening video presentations highlighting diverse schemes across various departments. Notable mentions included initiatives by MAHUD, Health, PHED, CAF & PD, and Agriculture, culminating in a special interactive session where beneficiaries had the honor of connecting with Hon’ble Prime Minister via video conference.

A health camp at Kha Sanjenbam further underscored the program’s comprehensive approach to community well-being.

The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, introduced on November 15, 2023, by the Government of India, aims to propel a nationwide campaign to ensure the comprehensive outreach and awareness required for the successful implementation of various schemes. Its primary objectives include reaching eligible yet untapped beneficiaries, disseminating crucial information, fostering awareness, and engaging with potential beneficiaries directly during the yatra.

This ambitious initiative hinges on collective efforts and active public involvement to ensure that every individual, especially the most vulnerable, receives the benefits they rightfully deserve.

The resounding success of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra rests on the commitment to bridging the gap and empowering the communities at the grassroots level.
