Recognising the urgent need for tangible support, these initiatives encompass a multifaceted approach targeting various aspects of livelihood and well-being.
Justice Gita Mittal electronically inaugurated a Skill Training Programme for 2000 Internally Displaced Youths, along with a Youth Coach Level 1 certificate Programme aiming to train 300 youths as coaches in multiple sport disciplines like football, table tennis, badminton, judo, and weightlifting. Additionally, a primary health centre operationalization in PPP mode, in collaboration with the State Government and Apollo Hospital Enterprise, Hyderabad, utilizing telemedicine, was launched at the Palace Auditorium in Imphal.
One such initiative is the comprehensive skill training program in the hospitality sector. This initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Capacity Building for Service Provider through Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council, aims to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities for the youth affected by the conflict.
With a focus on areas such as food and beverages, guest service, customer relations, and front office management, the training program will equip participants with the necessary skills to secure employment in the thriving hospitality industry.
By partnering with Primer Kalling Pvt Ltd as the training provider, the government ensures that 2000 internally displaced youth from Relief Camps across the state will benefit from this initiative, thus facilitating their reintegration into stable and fulfilling lives.
In addition to addressing economic empowerment, the government is also prioritizing the restoration of essential healthcare services for affected communities.
Through a strategic collaboration with Apollo Hospital Enterprise Limited, efforts are underway to swiftly resume operations at Borobeka Primary Health Centre (PHC).
By leveraging the expertise and resources of Apollo Hospital Enterprise Limited, the government aims to ensure that residents have access to quality medical care despite the challenges posed by the conflict.
This initiative underscores the unwavering commitment of the State Government to prioritize the health and well-being of all citizens, even in the face of adversity.
Furthermore, recognizing the importance of sports in fostering resilience and community cohesion, the government is launching a unique certification program aimed at empowering grassroots athletes to become coaches.
With a focus on disciplines such as football, table tennis, badminton, judo, and weightlifting, this program will provide specialized training to 300 trainees recruited from across the state.
Partnering with TENVIC Sports, the government aims to equip grassroots athletes with the necessary skills and knowledge to become coaches, thereby promoting sports development and creating avenues for positive engagement and personal growth within communities.
Furthermore, to harness the state's rich resources and create job opportunities, the government is collaborating with Hindu College, Delhi University, Ultra International Ltd, and CSIR CIMAP Lucknow to launch a training program in fragrance formulations for wellness products.
By leveraging Manipur's abundance of herbs and medicinal plants, this initiative aims to establish Manipur as a center for the Perfumery industry in the Northeast region, thereby enhancing economic prospects and fostering regional development.
During impromptu media interaction following the programme launch, Justice Gita Mittal emphasized that while the state administration has effectively provided facilities for internally displaced persons, the primary challenge remains ensuring their safe return home.
Despite the gratitude expressed for the created facilities, the predominant desire among the displaced individuals is to reunite with their families and return to their homes.
Justice Mittal highlighted the prompt addressing of various issues, from transportation to healthcare, including specialized facilities for pregnant women in Imphal East. However, the overarching challenge lies in reuniting families and facilitating their return, reflecting the ongoing endeavor of the government and state administration.
These proactive initiatives underscore the government's commitment to not only addressing immediate challenges but also to fostering long-term solutions for the betterment of society. Through targeted interventions in areas such as skill training, healthcare, sports, and industry development, the State Government of Manipur is striving to alleviate the suffering caused by the recent conflict and pave the way for a brighter and more resilient future for all its citizens.
