SSC withdraws constable recruitment results for Manipur

Imphal: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), citing reasons, has withdrawn the final results of recruitment of constable and riflemen (GD) in Central Armed Police Force (CRPF) examination 2022 for the state of Manipur.

A notice issued by the Commission on Monday said the “revised final result in respect of Manipur incorporating the complete data of the candidates will be published shortly.”

Manipur chief secretary Dr Vineet Joshi, following the controversial results, wrote a letter to the chairman of the Staff Selection Commission and also spoke with him on the development official sources said on Tuesday.

The sources added that out of the total 232 candidates selected in the recruitment of constables General Duty (GD) in CAPF in SSF and riflemen in Assam Rifles and sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) examination for the state of Manipur, 231 are under Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.

Over 70 percent of selected ST candidates belong to Kuki-Chin community, while the remaining one belongs to Meitei community under OBC, the sources further said.

Owing to the law-and-order situation in Manipur, the physical and medical tests in respect of the candidates belonging to Manipur were conducted in multiple phases, said the notice issued by an under secretary of the Commission.

“While processing the result dated 15.03.2024, the data pertaining to one phase was inadvertently missed out,” it said.

In view of the situation, “the result published on 15.03.2024 is treated as withdrawn. The revised final result in respect of Manipur incorporating the complete data of candidates will be published shortly,” said the notice.
